By now you know we are doggie lovers here at SeaSide Village.
So here's the saga.
The night of our VIP Open House on Thursday night the 29th, before our weekend's Grand Opening Celebration, really late as we were leaving the Sales Model (our new office) we noticed across the street this hungry, dirty, scared stray dog with ribs sticking out. Michael, our Sales Manager, fed him. He was skittish as if he had been abused, with no tag. The next morning I came in and he was nearby. We all took food out to him and he'd been attacked overnight by another dog and bitten on the ear.
Basically, we tried to have this county's Animal Rescue take him but they were full and not taking new dogs. We heard about a wonderful veterinary clinic, Wakulla County Animal Hospital in the next county 30 minutes away, and Diane, our Office Manager, took him there. We had him fully treated, shots, tests, etc. They were very reasonably priced. They said this dirty old looking dog was only 2 years old, and when adopted out, will be a neutered male in perfect health. We arranged to have him saved by placing him with CHAT, Citizens for Humane Animal Treatment, who are the most loving, generous of spirit folks. He's eating very well, and he is nursed back to wonderful health.
We would love to adopt him ourselves but cannot with our travel schedules. Diane has been going up there to walk him. Michael and I went up the other day and walked him. We took this picture. What a sweetie! Very gentle with children and other dogs. He's a Walker Hound and apparently had been used by a hunter who abandoned him. We have him up for adoption but not to a hunter.
Diane named him "Scooter". If you are interested in a truly blessed little fellow please let us know. We know he's going to find the perfect loving home with good people for him to live a wonderful life with. There are no accidents about who or what beings come across our paths. We will lovingly pay the $75 adoption fee for the right person(s) who adopt Scooter.
After we adopt out Scooter we've decided to "adopt" CHAT, so we'll then sponsor subsequent dogs to adopt out, bringing love to and from the perfect beings. There is nothing like the unconditional love of a rescued dog. We will also pay adoption fees for each of these new family friends.
